Potential Changes to Melrose Street

Bayside City Council are looking to understand your views on potential changes to the use of Melrose Street.

What do you think about the possible pedestrianisation of a section of the road in Melrose Street, Sandringham? The potential road closure is between 12 Melrose Street and Station Street in Sandringham Village.

This idea has been put forward by members of the community who have a desire for an increase in public open space within Sandringham Village. Pedestrians would be able to pass through the proposed road closure at any time.

We need to understand if there is a level of a support for this idea from anyone who visits, shops, lives, works, or owns a business or property in Sandringham. This feedback will be presented to Council in December 2022 to determine the next step. If supported, there would be further community engagement on preferred concept designs.

Provide your feedback to help Council to determine how we move forward.

You can participate in this consultation via Have Your Say, webinars and in person at pop-up events before the consultation closes on 14 October 2022.
